Overview
In this presentation, project researcher Dr Sara Ryding discusses how changes in shorebird migration patterns, habitat conditions, and climate may influence the risk of avian influenza reaching Australia. Using extensive tracking and citizen-science data, the project maps migratory pathways and models how these may change under future conditions to predict potential disease incursion risks, providing important knowledge to support Australia’s biosecurity preparedness and migratory shorebird management.
